Jonathan Jerome "J.J." Strickland

Jonathan Jerome Strickland, lovingly known as "JJ" by his family and friends, passed away peacefully on September 23, 2015 at the age of 52, after a short battle with cancer. He was born April 23, 1963 in Cartagena, Spain, but has called Jacksonville, FL his home since 1973. JJ was a gifted artist, an avid Gator fan and a passionate angler. He is survived by his parents; Jimmie and Judith Strickland, his brothers; Joseph (Lynn) and Jeffrey (Sheryl), and his nieces; Laura and Olivia. He also leaves behind his dearest friend; Larry Caldwell and his beloved kitty; Lucy Raccoon, as well as countless other friends in the community where he lived.
