Jose was born on June 14th, 1935, in La Ceiba, Honduras to Julio Cesar and Encarnacion (Choncita) Sosa. He spent his childhood with his many siblings: Tulio, Mario, Isabel (Chava), Norma, Vilma, Luz Marina, Blanca, Cilia and Hilda, and later in life moved to New Orleans, Louisiana in 1959 to later marry his beloved wife, Midey in 1967. His work would later relocate him to Jacksonville, Florida in 1988 and has since resided in the Orange Park area of Jacksonville for the past 27 years with his wife and children. He served as a merchant marine for 28 years and was also there to help bring much needed ammunition and missiles to our U.S. troops during the Vietnam War.
Jose was somewhat of a recluse in the way that he enjoyed sitting in his comfortable recliner watching television with that never-ending smile on his face. He will always be remembered as a hard-working man who was ready to do whatever it took to take care of his family. He will be missed dearly.
