Karlene Jabour Slyman, age 65, of Jacksonville, passed away on Friday, October 4, 2019 after a prolonged illness. Karlene was born on January 1,1954 in Vicksburg, Mississippi to Karl and Delores Hike Jabour.
She married Floyd Michael Slyman on February 2, 1991. Together, they had two children, Lauren Slyman and Christopher Slyman. She received a bachelor's degree at the University of Southern Mississippi in Elementary Education.
She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Amelia Hike, her father, Karl Jabour, and her brother, Karl Jay Jabour. She is survived by her mother, Delores Hike Jabour and sister, Debbie Jabour Stuart (and Ellis), her children, her loving husband of 28 years, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She loved the restaurant business and was most recently the owner of Barrs Street Eats and Cafe Du Marche.
She was a long-time member of San Juan Del Rio Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, the family would like memorials sent to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
