Jacksonville, Florida

Linda Dianne Muse, 70, of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away Wednesday, December 18, 2024, following a brief illness surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Jacksonville on September 18, 1954, to Johnny Patrick and Tressie Mae Lucas. She was the youngest of 9 children.

Dianne had two children, Kimberly Dianne McCorkle, and Chip McCorkle, born in 1971 and 1972. They were her pride and joy for her whole life, and she loved them beyond measure. In 1978 Dianne, Kim, and Chip moved to Baton Rouge, Louisiana to be near her sister Mary Ann Hoopes and her beautiful family. She moved back to Jacksonville in 1993 where she met the love of her life, Arnold Muse. They were married on December 2, 1996. They loved each other deeply and enjoyed spending time together. They especially enjoyed going to church, fishing, shopping for antiques and treasures, and living on the St. John’s River. Dianne loved listening to music, and she was always fun to be around. She also loved helping others in need and was a friend to many. She was devoted to her family including her children and their families, especially her grandchildren Ryan and Samuel, and her many nieces and nephews who lovingly called her “Aunt Diagie.” During her life she primarily worked in social services and administrative roles in the healthcare field. Dianne will be dearly missed by all who knew her kindness, caring heart, and beautiful smile.

She is preceded in death by her parents, seven of her siblings, and several nieces and nephews.

She is survived by her loving husband Arnie; her daughter Kimberly McCorkle (Richard Hough) and son, Chip McCorkle (Traci); her grandchildren Ryan and Samuel, her bonus grandchildren Richard Jr., Kevin, Charla, and Michael and their children; her sister Dolly Park (Butch); and numerous nieces and nephews and their children.
