LISA REBECCA (SELF) NEWELL
(December 11, 1970 – September 3, 2016)
“One of the most precious and giving persons we know!”
Lisa was called to Heaven after a courageous battle from the effects of a brain hemorrhage for 36 days, finally succumbing to a second brain hemorrhage, which brought her home to our Lord and Savior. Lisa was born in West Palm Beach, FL and graduated from Palm Beach Lakes Community High School in 1989 and from the University of Central Florida in 1995, majoring in Early Childhood Education. Lisa taught in the Orange County, FL School System from 1995-1998 and in the St. Lucie County, FL School System from 2010-2016. Lisa was an extremely dedicated VPK Teacher at Allapattah Flats Elementary School, in Port St. Lucie, FL and devoted her heart and soul to her VPK students. Lisa is survived by her 3 children: Kaitlyn Ann-18, Alicia Rose-15 and Matthew Scott-11. Lisa also leaves behind her mother Linda (Self) Bartalot, her father Jerold Self and Step-father Arthur Bartalot. Additionally, Lisa is survived by two sisters Julie (Self) Sweeney and Christina Bartalot. There are two step-brothers, as well, Casey and Aaron Belisle.
A Memorial Service is planned for 10 AM, Saturday, September 24, 2016, at First United Methodist Church of Port St. Lucie (260 SW Prima Vista Blvd., Port St. Lucie, FL 34983) (772) 878-1155.
A reception will follow immediately after the service in the adjoining Beacon Life Center.
