Lisette (Andalia) Mooney passed away on August 5, 2024, at the age of 73 after being ill for a few months and suffering cardiac arrest. She was surrounded by her beloved husband Tom, daughter Lianne, son-in-law Ronnie, and a few close friends in her final moments. She was born in Mayari, Oriente, Cuba where she lived until the age of 8, moved to the US where she resided in Rochester, New York for a short time followed by a move to Miami where she lived until she graduated Junior college. Her acceptance to FAU created a family move to Boca Raton, FL where she met her husband, Tom of 51 years of at a business sorority party. They married in 1973 and had their daughter, Lianne, in 1978 after moving to Margate. They relocated to Jacksonville in 1989 and moved to Saint Augustine to live with their daughter, son-in- law, and grandsons in 2019. Lisette had a 40+ year career as an Internal Auditor from which she retired in 2015. She was a mother figure with a huge heart and mentor to so many. Her smile and welcoming charm would light up the room! Lisette cherished every moment with her grandchildren and family. Family meant the world to her, and that family extends far beyond blood relatives. She loved to cook, watch Hallmark movies, and vacation with her family, especially cruises and her favorite family vacation spot since childhood- Pisgah View Ranch in Candler, NC. Her greatest joy was her grandsons, she loved seeing them daily and hearing about their day.
Survived by her husband Tom Mooney, daughter Lianne Angell and husband Ronnie Angell, and 3 grandsons Austin, Aaron, and Aiden. Olga Jenkins, her sister and her husband Ken Jenkins- their children Kate Grier & her husband Josh Grier who are awaiting the birth of their first son, Arthur Samuel Grier, who would be Lisette's first great-nephew. Manny Andalia, her brother & his wife Mary Andalia and their children Joe Schmitz and his wife Lizz Schmitz along with their daughters, Cora Kidd, Evie Kidd and Sara Schmitz; and Marc Schmitz & his wife Cindy Schmitz. Lisette has joined those who preceded her passing - Raul and Nilda Andalia, her parents.
We will be celebrating Lisette's life at Naugle Funeral Home, 1203 Hendricks Ave., Jacksonville, FL 32207 Wednesday, August 14, 2024 - 1:30pm visitation, 2:30 pm service.
Followed by a gathering of Family &; Friends at Havana Jax 2578 Atlantic Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32207 4pm-6:30pm.
