Madison L. Yontz, 25, of Jacksonville, Florida, went to teach the little angels in heaven, June 21, 2023, at home with Hospice care surrounded by family after being diagnosed April 2023 with Stage IV metastatic colon cancer.
She was born March 20, 1998, in Atlanta Georgia to Scott Yontz and Stephanie Moody Yontz. She has one half-brother, Taylor Yontz.
Madison graduated high school from Frank H. Peterson in 2016. She began her career shortly thereafter at The Cathedral School in downtown Jacksonville where she has worked as a preschool teacher since graduating. She was passionate about teaching those babies and loved them and their parents immensely. She also loved spending time with her work family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her maternal grandfather Roger F. Moody, Waycross, Georgia; and both paternal grandparents Rudolph and Ethel J. Yontz, Riverdale, Georgia.
She is survived by her soul mate Petty Officer Second Class Devin Hendricks, Kings Bay, Georgia; her mother Stephanie Moody Yontz, Jacksonville, Florida; her father and stepmother Scott and Kim Yontz, Canton, Georgia; her half brother and sister in law Taylor and Katherine Yontz, nephews Kalvin and Kane, Murrieta, California; her aunt Jennifer Moody and cousin Henry Moody, Jacksonville, Florida; her grandmother Kathy Moody, Jacksonville, Florida; her step grandmother Gail Moody, Blackshear, Georgia: her god-daughter Symphony Luz Pumarejo, Jacksonville, Florida, and many cousins, aunts, uncles and extended family whom she loved dearly.
A memorial service will be held Saturday July 1, 2023, 10:00 a.m. at St. John's Episcopal Cathedral, 256 E. Church St, Jacksonville, FL, 32202. Thank you all for the love and generosity that has been shared with Madison and her family during her beautiful and far too short life.
