Maggie Ruth Dunn, 99, passed away October 12, 2024 in Jacksonville, Florida. She was born September 13, 1925 in Albemarle, North Carolina.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Luke Hatley and Attie Hatley; her son William Sides; her brothers, JB Hatley, Luke Elbert Hatley, Winfred Hatley, Glenn Hatley, Carl Hatley; and granddaughter Christina Sides.
She is survived by daughter Helen Ann Cicale (Don) of Jacksonville, Florida; her brother Ted Hatley of Albemarle, North Carolina; her grandchildren Cylina Sides (Bob) of Jacksonville, Florida; Mark Cicale of Jacksonville, Florida; Matthew Cicale of Apex, North Carolina; Stephen Cicale of Jacksonville, Florida; and great-grandchildren Kaitlin Cicale, Hannah Cicale, and Seraphina Cicale.
Ruth graduated from Millingport High School in Stanley County, North Carolina. Early in her career, she worked as a hairdresser and then dedicated her career with United States Fidelity and Guaranty Company (USF&G) and retired after 34-years of employment. During her retirement she enjoyed working part-time at Piccadilly Cafeteria and a greeter with K-Mart in Jacksonville, Florida.
She was well known for her little giggle and during the last few years was known as Maggie to her many friends.
