Maleia Ramona Liddell
October 15, 1976 — June 11, 2024
Maleia Ramona Liddell, of Dawsonville, GA, passed away
unexpectedly June 11, 2024, at the age of 47.
Maleia's childhood, shared in every way with her older sister
Heather, was spent in Doraville and Kennesaw, GA, and Lancaster,
SC. She attended Lancaster and North Cobb High Schools, where
she was an outstanding and competitive basketball and softball
player.
Maleia was our Bicentennial Baby, born in 1976 in Atlanta. Maleia
never turned down the opportunity to enjoy life - through live
music, road trips, or quiet time at a nearby lake. She cultivated
many loyal friendships, and was known among friends and family
as a gifted cook. One of Maleia's enduring traits was that she
never sugarcoated her shortcomings and was honest about the
mistakes she had made in her life. She loved her family deeply,
and had a soft spot for folks down on their luck. Her
unforgettable laugh will long be a comforting memory of her
spirit.
Left to mourn Maleia's passing are her three children - in whom
she had immense pride - Malik Liddell, Ansley Liddell, and Heydan
Liddell. Also surviving her are her father H. Todd "Skip" Liddell III,
her siblings Heather Pennington, Todd Liddell, iv, and Lauren
Liddell, as well as her niece Jordan Pennington. Maleia was the
proud grandmother of Matthew, Luke, Evangeline, and Liam, of
Jacksonville, Florida. Her many aunts, uncles, and cousins also
cherish her memory. She was preceded in death by her
stepmother Annette Liddell and brother-in-law Dennis
Pennington.
A Celebration of Life is planned for Sunday June 23 at the Athens
Boat Club Pavilion, at 207 Dogwood Drive, Dawsonville, GA.
The family will receive visitors from 2:00 - 3:00 with remarks,
remembrances, and refreshments following.
In lieu of flowers, the family is establishing a college trust fund
for Heydan, Maleia's minor daughter. For more information,
