Maria Margarita Cruz Batista age 80, passed away peacefully December 30, 2020 at 8:55 pm
due to congestive heart failure. She was born February 22, 1940 in Arecibo P.R. to Demetrio
and Serafina Cruz. She married Reinaldo C. Alvelo in October 1960.
Maria loved to teach in elementary school at P.S. 20 NYC. She also shared her love with food of
rice and read beans, crocheting, bingo, fishing.
Maria she used to always say " Do what's right and do what's good. Be kind and help others.
Always be with family. The world can always use one more kind person."
Maria is survived by her three brothers and wife's, three sons Lenny, Gilbert, and Danny, 8
grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren, plus many nephews and nieces. All of these she
loved and touched deeply.
