Mary Louise Egli Martin, born November 18, 1922, died peacefully on October 12, 2017 with her family by her side. A Jacksonville native, she graduated Andrew Jackson High School in 1940. After graduation, she remained active in the reunion committee until the last reunion in 2005. She and husband Ray were founding members at Lakewood United Methodist Church and served many roles over the years. Later she was a faithful member of Christ the Redeemer Church in St. Augustine and served as head greeter. She loved meeting people and was blessed with a keen ability to remember names. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, cooking and spending time with her family.
She was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Charles Ray Martin, father Clifton Albert Egli, mother Ada Bard Miller Egli and stepmother, Ann Lewis Martin Egli. She is survived by her daughter, Ann Martin Latimer (Bruce), son Charles Albert Martin (Pat) and grandaughter, Jeanine Latimer Parkes (Richard), many cousins and friends.
A celebration of life will be held 12:30 on Friday, November 17 at Jacksonville National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial may be made to Community Hospice Hadlow Center.
