White: Matthew "Matt" Robert White, 35, died Tuesday, August 13, 2019 after a ten year battle with addictions. Matt was a committed and loving Grandson, Son, Brother, Nephew, Cousin, Co-worker and Friend. Matt was born in Tampa, Florida on May 12, 1984 and moved to Jacksonville when he was two years old. He attended San Jose Episcopal Day School, San Jose Catholic Day School, Bishop Kenny High School and graduated from H.B. Plant High School in Tampa, Florida. He earned his Associate of Arts degree from Hillsborough Community College in Tampa where he advanced his studies, primarily in the area of Computer Technology. Matt participated in youth sports throughout his childhood and was particularly drawn to soccer and football and he made lifelong friends in both sports. During this time he developed his affinity for the Florida GATORS and especially the Jacksonville JAGUARS. While he was in Tampa, Matt was able to achieve a life-long dream of becoming a drummer in a Rock N' Roll Band. Matt was the drummer for Golden Vanity and with the Scheer siblings - Josh, Jeremiah and Leah - went on to play at many Florida venues and to record two albums/CDs. Upon his return to his hometown of Jacksonville, Matt returned to school and earned multiple certifications in Microsoft Desktop Technology. He once again became part of a band Plan D, with childhood friends Bradley Hurst, Stephen Drewniany and Chase Sorensen. Though not as serious as his Golden Vanity days, the guys had fun. Matt spent his career in computer desktop support and was always willing and able to help others with their problems. Much of his career was with Kishek Consulting and many thanks to his boss and mentor George Kishek. Most importantly, Matt was a loving, supporting, and caring family member and friend, and all who encountered him were touched by his magnanimous spirit. Matt also loved animals and in particular his dogs throughout his life Molly, Jackson, Addie and Gracie. Matt was preceded in death by his grandparents Ric and Betsy White and Bob and Pat Wright. He will most certainly enjoy his reunion with them. Matt is survived by his parents Bob and Becky White of Jacksonville, his sister Katye (John) Daley and their son and Matt's nephew James of Columbia, South Carolina, his brother Drew White of Aspen, Colorado, Uncle Ed (Kim) White of Flagler Beach, Florida, Aunt Lyn (Kevin) White, of Jacksonville, Uncle Jim Wright of Trinity, Florida, Uncle Bob (Liz) Wright of Palm Harbor, Florida, very special "Uncle" Ron Hurst of Jacksonville, cousins Kelly (Buck) McIntosh and their son Jake, of Jacksonville, Andy Lockey of Keowee, South Carolina, Natalie (Jon) Wright Tietz and their daughter Ruby of Trinity, Florida, Ben Wright of Palm Harbor, Florida, and finally, his best friend for life, Bradley Hurst.
Rest now Matt you are pain free and in Peace. Know that everyone here will love you as we always have.
