With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Patsy Sheppard on May 26, 2020 while sleeping in her daughter's home, after a fourteen-year fight with Alzheimer's Disease. She was a loving and devoted Mother, teacher, and friend to all whose lives she touched. She was 84.
Mrs. Sheppard, or Mimi as she was known by those closest to her, was born in 1935 in Salisbury, North Carolina. She graduated from Wake Forest University and received her MBA from the University of North Florida.
Mrs. Sheppard taught math in Jacksonville, Florida for 40 years and coached many sports. She loved golfing, traveling, playing bridge, and working in the yard. She attended Chet's Creek Church.
Mrs. Sheppard is survived by her daughters, Cynthia Mercer (Thomas) and Kim Balaskiewicz (James); grandsons, Andrew Mercer, Alex Mercer, Cody Mercer and Luke Balaskiewicz; granddaughter, Madison Balaskiewicz; Brother William M. Wilhelm, Jr. (Tonya); Niece, Tennelle Hahn (Jason); Nephew, Gresham Wilhelm (Elizabeth).
Visitation will be Friday May 29, 2020 at 4:30 with services starting at 5:00 at Naugle Funeral Home, 1203 Hendricks Avenue, Jacksonville, FL 32207.
