Phillip Emory Gilson, known affectionately as Phil, passed away on July 26 th 2024 in Jacksonville, Fl, at the age of 59. Born on July 31 st 1964 in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania. Phil grew up and completed his education at West Jefferson High School before dedicating eight years of service to the US Navy from1982-1990.
Phil was a cherished family man, celebrated for his roles as a loving husband, father, and his
most exceptional role as a grandfather. He loved all his grandchildren greatly and they loved their
granddad. His warm presence and humorous spirit made him the family jokester, always ensuring an abundance of laughter. Phil had a profound love for fishing and sports. His all-time favorite sport was college football, basketball, and baseball, which he shared with his family and friends.
He is survived by his devoted wife: Connie Gilson; daughters: Samantha, Paige, and Kaitlin;
grandchildren: Walter Dixon, Jewels, Journee, Emory, Kharter, and Kenzlyn Meyers, and Myles Jr; sisters: Rebecca and Christine Gilson; and father: George Conrad Gilson Jr. He now joins his mother Grace Louise Ferraro Gilson; grandmother Grace Carbaugh Ferraro; and grandfather Sam Ferraro.
A service to honor Phil's life will be held at Naugle Funeral Home and Cremation Services in
Jacksonville, Fl, on August 23 rd at 1 pm. His life and laughter have left an indelible mark on all who knew him, and he will be deeply missed.
