Rafael Vito Sur

Rafael Vito Sur, age 68, of Jacksonville, Florida passed away Sunday, September, 16th, 2018 with his family at his bedside. Rafael was born October 24th, 1949 in Mindanao, Philippines. He is survived by his son, David Halldorsson, granddaughter, Katelind Halldorsson and former spouse, Helga Halldorson. Rafael joined the United States Navy in 1973 and retired after 20 years of service. Most recently, Rafael worked at the Fleet Readiness Center Southeast (FRCSE) at NAS Jax inspecting aircrafts. Rafael was a devout Catholic and practiced his faith at the Basilica of The Immaculate Conception in Downtown Jacksonville. Rafael was a handyman, able to fix anything himself. He also had a great willingness to help those around him in times of need. He will be remembered forever as a loving father and Afi and is deeply missed by his family. The Viewing will be held Wednesday, October 17th from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at Naugle Funeral Home, 1203 Hendricks Ave, Jacksonville, FL, 32218. The Memorial Service will be held Thursday, October 18th at 12:30 pm at Jacksonville National Cemetery (Lane 1), 4083 Lannie Road, Jacksonville, FL 32218.
