Ralph Bahr passed away on July 13, 2016 in Jacksonville Florida. Ralph was born in Summit, Illinois on August 7, 1927 to Emmy and Erwin Bahr. He was an only child. During his service in the U.S. Navy, while stationed at NAS Jacksonville, he met and married Juanita LaVerne Bahr. They were married for 68 years. They lived in Chicago for a few years and, after their first child was born, relocated back to Jacksonville, Florida in 1952 where they remained. Ralph had a long career in the Tool & Die and Machining industry. He employed, trained and inspired many people over the years to pursue careers in the Tool & Die and Machining field. He was one of the founders of a federally sponsored apprenticeship program in north Florida and served his community for many years as chairman of that organization. Outside of work, Ralph enjoyed family, fishing, travel and grooming his lawn and garden. Ralph is survived by his wife LaVerne and by three children; Jerry R. Bahr and his wife Noel and their daughters Lisa Bahr and Lanai Cooksey (Mason); Kristina B. Jamison and her husband James and their daughters Laura McDuff (Chris) and Julie Jamison; Randall A. Bahr and his wife Linda and their children Chandler Wade, Dallas Sellars (Brad) their baby daughter Navah; and Nova-Rae Bahr. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 15th from 6-8pm at Naugle Funeral Home, 1203 Hendricks Ave. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Saturday, July 16th at the same location with Pastor Peter Copeland of Hogan Baptist Church officiating.
There will be no grave side service.
