Raymond Edward Jones was born on April 16th, 1963 to Donald and Leslie Jones in Las Cruces, New Mexico. He grew up in El Paso, Texas and in 1984 he left El Paso for Jacksonville - traveling straight across I-10 in his El Camino towing his MG Midget! His Mom and Dad cried when as they watched him drive off.

Ray embraced Jacksonville as a true native. He was a Jaguars fan from the beginning. He was excited that Jacksonville had a Pro football team! Ray traveled the streets of Jacksonville during his many years in the beverage industry and made many friends and was fondly known as "the coca-cola man", and then later as "Ray Ray the wine man". He was proud of all of the miles he had traveled around Jacksonville, getting to know his customers and the city of Jacksonville, from the oceanfront to Riverside.

Ray loved to be outside. His perfect day involved sun, water, and loved ones. In his adolescence, he was an avid skate boarder and had many hours practicing at Earth Surf skatepark in El Paso, Texas. He carried his love of skateboarding into adulthood, and he was able to share this love with his daughter.

On April 21st, 1991, Ray's daughter Morgan Rae was born. He became a father on this day, but later he was Morgan's cheerleader, supporter, and friend. You could find Ray screaming on the sidelines for Morgan throughout her volleyball career. Then she would join him to scream at the top of their lungs to "Welcome to the Jungle" at the many Jaguars games they attended together. Ray was overjoyed to became a grandfather for the first time when his grandson Liam was born. Finally, Ray had someone to watch "Finding Nemo" with over and over.

On June 24th, 2016, he married his wife Karen in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, surrounded by their family. Ray and Karen had dated since 2006. Together, they dealt with some losses throughout the years, but they knew they always had each other's backs. They enjoyed going to concerts together, home projects, and relaxing at the beach. They had many pets together, including a goldfish Karen's daughter Sara had won at the county fair which Ray kept around for 8 years.

Ray loved a party. He was happy, but a little bewildered when he was welcomed into Karen's large extended family and was blessed with 3 children and 9 siblings. Karen's children, Kellen, Thomas and Sara knew they could count on him for anything, whether they needed a ride, grilling expertise, or a laugh.

Ray is predeceased by his father, Don Jones, and his step-son, Thomas Bryant.
He is survived by his wife, Karen Jones, his daughter, Morgan Jones (Michael), his mother, Leslie Jones, his brothers, Kenny, Steve and David Jones. He is also survived by his step-children, Kellen Bryant (Megan), Sara Prowant (Darwin), and his grandchildren: Liam, Elise, Ian and Wesley.

In remembrance of and to honor Ray, the family asks that charitable donations be made to the Tim Tebow Foundation or to your own special charity.

Ray's family is very thankful for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time. We know that Ray is in good and loving hands now with our Lord and Savior, and we know he was loved and he loved well through his life.
