Robert B Chappell, III, 82 of Jacksonville, Florida, died peacefully in his sleep on May 14, 2023 from complications of Parkinson's and Lewy Body dementia. He is survived by his wife Nancy and sons Frank, William, Christopher and Andrew.
Robert was a graduate of both Syracuse University where he attended on a wrestling scholarship and University of North Florida where he graduated Cum Laude with a Manufacturing Technology degree. He loved books, collecting unusual items, and enjoyed mastering new woodworking and engineering skills. He was an exemplary engineer working in the course of his career for Electric Boat, Pratt and Whitney, General Electric and Florida State University where he made significant contributions to designs for the physics department.
