Robert Conner
November 14, 1946 — December 30, 2016
Robert Allen “Rusty” Conner, age 70, of Jacksonville FL went to be with the Lord on December 30, 2016 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Savannah GA and grew up in Kissimmee FL. He is a United States Air Force veteran. After high school he did one tour of duty at March AFB in Riverside CA in the United States Air Force Band. Even though he loved, played and wrote music, he lived most of his life in Hilton Head Island SC and New Orleans LA as a chef and restaurant manager. He moved to Jacksonville FL in 1997 to be close to his family.
He is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by two sisters, Deborah Orr (William) of Jacksonville FL and Patricia Talley (Earle) of Ocala FL; an uncle Jimmy Knight (Marilyn) of Millen GA; an aunt Mary Knight of Portal GA; one niece and four nephews; numerous cousins and his extended church family at Westside Family Worship Center.
Funeral (cremation) arrangements will be made by Naugle Schnauss Funeral Home.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday Jan 03, 2017 at 11:00am at Westside Family Worship Center, 9717 103rd St, Jacksonville FL to celebrate his life. Pastor Jim Wilder will be officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Haven Hospice in Orange Park FL.
