Robert Arthur Mitchell, Sr., Sergeant First Class, a proud U.S. Army soldier who served in Vietnam, passed away on 12/27/2022.
The son of Arthur and Roberta Mitchell, Robert grew up in Birmingham, AL. He was born 9/3/1945 in Washington D.C. and attended school in AL. at Glen H.S. and Troy State...but always, Roll Tide!
At the age of 17, Robert enlisted in the Army. He was a patriot who loved his country and earned multiple commendations throughout his 23-year career. Robert also served as a letter carrier for 20 years with the U.S.P.S.
Robert is survived by Pam Mitchell, loving wife of 30 years. His son, Robb of AL; his daughter, Katie Moss (Corey) of TX; step-son, Traig Kaszyk (Kacy) of FL, and 7 loving grandchildren: Hannah and Emma Mitchell, Lily and David Moss, Connor, Thompson and Kolbe Kaszyk. Also survived by his brother, Alan Mitchell of AL, and sister Pam Ballard (Gary) of AL. Preceded in death by older brother, Arthur Mitchel (Elga) of Puerto Rico. Missing him will be many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A service honoring the life of Robert will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, 1/12/23 at Naugle Funeral Home, 1203 Hendricks Ave. Jacksonville, FL 32207
