Robert Bruce Steiner, 74, died May 4, 2016, in Jacksonville, Florida (formerly of Sugar Grove, Illinois). Known by many as "Mr. Bob", he was born in Chicago, Illinois on May 11, 1941 to Ernst and Emily (Marcus) Steiner.
Bob attended Schurz High School in Chicago and Rolla School of Mines in Rolla, Missouri and served in the Navy on the USS Wallace L Lind. He loved music, sports and outdoor activities. He was a member of the Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestra, Rolla Cross Country Team; and was an avid racquetball player, skier, and golfer. Most of all he loved soccer as a licensed coach and referee of youth soccer for nearly 20 years. He was the owner and president of Windum Process Equipment from 1973 until retirement in 2010.
Bob is survived by his children; Scott, Sugar Grove, IL and Stacey, Jacksonville, FL, wife; Marion (Albrecht) Steiner, Sugar Grove IL, brother and sister; Kurt (Judy) of Spring Hill Fl/Green Bay WI, Fern (Ray) Teborek, Chicago, sister-in-law; Karen (Brian) McGehee, Roselle, IL, nephews and niece; David (Molly) Steiner, Kevin (Carrie) and Mark (Libby) Teborek, Joseph and Kaitlyn McGehee, and, mother-in-law; Wilma Albrecht, Rock Island, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents; niece, Rebecca Steiner, and father-in-law, Werner Albrecht.
A private family Interment will be held at Ridgewood Memorial Park, Des Plaines, Illinois. It is requested due to his passion for youth athletics that any memorials may be made to your local athletic association.
