Ruth Graham Wisecarver died surrounded by family and friends on December 26,
2024 following complications from open heart surgery.
She was born September 7, 1958, as Ruth Evelyn Graham to Merilyn Baker
Graham and John Edward Graham of Jacksonville, Florida. Ruth was predeceased
by her husband, Charles Wisecarver, her son, Brice Wisecarver, and her sister, Ann
Graham Briese.
Ruth was a graduate of Jacksonville Episcopal High School and the University of
Georgia. She was an ardent Bulldogs fan. She worked for many years as a Bank
Manager for Bank South and became an accomplished legal assistant in her second
career.
She is survived by her devoted daughter Brooks Wisecarver Cottrell and son-in-
law Cory, her grandsons Harper and Graham Cottrell. She is also survived by her
sister Susan Herd and her husband, Tom; her brother Edward Graham and his wife,
Lee; and her twin sister Merilyn Goldschmid and her husband Jerry Wisniewski.
Ruth will be remembered for her wry wit and sharp mind. She was fiercely loyal to
her family, friends, and co-workers. She faced tragic losses with courage and faith.
She always persevered and carried on, no matter the circumstances. God called her
home much sooner than we would have wished. We know that she is at peace
today.
