Samuel Esse Barket, Jr., 82, died May 31, 2015 in his native Jacksonville, Florida. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Marcie Barket; son, Sam Barket III (Rhonda); son, Garrett Barket; daughter, Elise Beasley (Bill); daughter, Jenny Barket; step-daughter, Erica Kirk (Kevin); 8 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was the oldest son of Sam and Lillian Barket. He is survived by his brother, Thomas Barket (Lynne) and sister, Karen Barsh. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Gwen Saleeba. Sam graduated from Andrew Jackson in 1950. A lifelong Gator, he went to University of Florida for his undergraduate and law degrees. He practiced law in Jacksonville for over 40 years. He was an avid water and snow skier and skied for Cypress Gardens. He founded the Trout River Ski Club and the Jacksonville Ski Club. He loved to fly and earned his pilot’s license. He enjoyed many Friday mornings with his Optimist club. Family was first and foremost for him and he loved spending time with his grandchildren and sharing his Gators with them. There will be a visitation Wednesday, June 3rd from 6pm until 8 at Naugle Funeral Home, 1203 Hendricks Ave. Funeral services will be Thursday, June 4th at 11:00am at All Saints Episcopal Church, 4171 Hendricks Avenue and Interment will be at Oaklawn Cemetery.
