Samuel "Sonny" Williams, 74, was brought into this world on January 19, 1945, and departed on September 27, 2019. He spent his last days listening to classic rock & country music, cutting jokes & cussin'! 'Did you know' will be his dying joke.
He grew up in Swedesboro, New Jersey, graduating in 1966 from Kingsway Regional High School. He then joined the U.S. Army where he served from 1966 to 1968 - which included tours in the countryside of Vietnam. Sonny enjoyed watching wrasslin' and good ol' redneck shows on tv, having his finger pulled and joking around. He spent his free time fishin', hunting and getting lost (because directions weren't really needed). He spent time in Maryland and Virginia before retiring to Florida where he resided with his high school sweetheart, Joan Twiss, and her daughter, Denny. Together, they enjoyed walking through local parks, feeding critters, picking berries & spending time with their bonus families.
Dad, Pop-pop, Sam, Sonny... a man of many names and not many words, was preceded in death by his parents, Juanita & Parker Matson, his brother Jerry Williams and stepson Ron Johnson. He is survived by his stepson Fred Johnson, his wife Tracy and their 4 children, Ron's 10 children, his stepdaughter Cindy Johnson, as well as his 4 children: Samantha Reeves and her 2 children, Sara Williams, Christina Sipe, her husband Jon and their 2 children, Samuel Williams Jr. and his 1 child, along with 1.5 great-grandchildren. We all look forward to his promised hauntings.
