Scott Lynn Durban was born December 3, 1963, and passed away after a courageous battle with cancer, on March 7, 2023. He grew up in San Marco and attended Southside United Methodist Church. He graduated from Wolfson High School. Scott was a member of Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 234 and worked as a Journeyman Plumber at W.W. Gay Mechanical Contractor, Inc. for 15 years. He was also a member of Ionic Lodge 101 F & Am and Scottish Rite.
Scott was the hardest worker you could ever meet and always brought his positive attitude to the job.
His lifelong passion was sailing. He was often asked to crew because "if Scott was on the boat, you had a very good chance to win the race".
Scott's outgoing, cheerful personality, huge smile, and friendly nature earned him many friends. His family liked to say that he probably knew everyone in Jacksonville. Many of his favorite things to do involved food. He loved breakfast at Biscottis, lunch at Whitey's Fish Camp, and family dinners.
Scott recently married Amy, the love of his life. He was never happier than when he was spending time with her.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Jacksonville Humane Society or Community Hospice in his honor.
The family will hold a private memorial service and a drop by "Celebration of Scott's Life" will be held on Sunday, March 26th at Ortega River Club, 4165 Lakeside Drive, Jacksonville, FL, from 2:00 to 4:00 pm. In keeping with Scott's wishes, please honor him by wearing your favorite nautical or fishing attire.
