Shirley Sue Jackson Lawson Walter, 84 passed away peacefully after a 10-year battle with Dementia on June 7, 2024, in Jacksonville, Florida, following a final illness, she was surrounded by the love and presence of her family. Shirley was born in Jay, Florida on August 16, 1939. Shirley was raised in the Jay - Pensacola area and moved to Jacksonville, Florida in 1982. Shirley had a tireless work ethic that was ingrained from her early days of working on the family farm.
Shirley loved being artistic, spending time with her family and friends, growing plants, and the art of bonsai. She had various jobs throughout her life, Waitress, Nursing Aide, however one of her proudest accomplishments was being a business owner here in Jacksonville, Florida, where she owned and operated Sue's Cleaning for many years.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents JD and Irene Jackson: brothers Travis Jackson, Lee Don Jackson, and James Barber Jackson: Sister Hellon Poley: brother - in - laws Ernest Poley, Sr., and George Simpson
Shirley is survived by her husband Bruce Walter, daughter, Elizabeth L. Roscoe (Terry) of Jacksonville, Sons, Dennis Walter of Jacksonville, Ronald Lawson (Susan) of California, Grandchildren: Martin Busch, Brianne Lawson (Bryce), Cassandra Lawson (Jessie) all of Colorado Springs, Colorado. Great Grandchildren: Kristoffer Busch and Persephone Busch. Brother, JD Jackson Jr (Carolyn) of Hosford and Sisters: Carol White (Norman) and Alice Simpson of Clarksville. Sister-in-Laws, Sandra Hitchens (Doug) of Zephyrhills and Wendy Schneck of Fishkill, NY.
Services will be held at Naugle Funeral & Cremation Services on June 24, 2024. Viewing will begin at 1:00PM with services to follow. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations made to
