Srivipa "Pom" Grant, 70, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away on Tuesday, July 9, 2019 in Jacksonville, surrounded by family and friends. Pom was born on October 12, 1948. In Bangkok, Thailand to Srisawat and Boonme Pichitworakan. Pom met her late husband (Jon) while he was working as a civil engineer in Bangkok. They married and his work took them to Africa, Australia and the Philippines. They settled in Jacksonville in 1978. Pom became a hair stylist and was the owner of Deerwood Family Hair Care for many years before joining Jacksonville Hair Replacement. She was loved and adored by her customers. Retiring in June 2019, she was still taking care of a few clients.
Pom loved to travel and continued to do so annually to England and Australia. There were always stories to be shared and jokes to be told.
Pom loved animals. She has rescued and cared for dogs and cats over the years. Pom will be missed by her family and friends. She will remain in our hearts forever.
Pom was preceded in death by her husband, Clayton "Jon" Grant; and her son Vint J. Chapman (Becky). She is survived by her son, David J. Grant (Suchinda); daughters, Vicky G. Wild (Mark) and Jan G. Thomas (Steve); grandchildren Preston, Stacie, Lauren, Caitlin, Nicole and Erin.
A memorial service will be held 11 am, Friday, July 19th at Naugle Funeral Home, 1203 Hendricks Avenue, Jacksonville, Florida. FL 32207 on Friday, July 19 at 11:00 am. A reception will follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to the Jacksonville Humane Society in Pom's memory. <
