Steven “Steve” Bradford More, 51, passed away unexpectedly on November 21, 2024, due to a sudden medical complication. Born on June 26, 1973, in Ashtabula, Ohio, he was the son of Louis A. and Glenda Bradford More. In 1991, Steve graduated from Ashtabula Harbor High School and enlisted in the United States Navy in 1993. He served at Naval Station Mayport and Naval Air Station Jacksonville in Florida, traveling extensively throughout Europe, the Middle East, the Caribbean, and South America during his 20-year career before retiring. Following his retirement, Steve worked as a SARDIP Mechanic for the Engility Corporation until his passing.
While in the Navy, Steve met and married his best friend and love, Angie Lynn Bruton. Together, they raised their daughter, Kaitlyn, and provided a loving home for many foster and rescue dogs. Steve cherished time with his family, particularly during holidays and family vacations, and enjoyed their annual bingo games. An avid sports fan, he cheered for the Ohio State Buckeyes, Cleveland Guardians, and Pittsburgh Steelers.
Steve is survived by his wife Angie, step-daughter Kaitlyn (Angelo), and their family, including Joan and Ben Bruton, Christie O’Meara (Mike), and their children Brooke and Ryan of Jacksonville, Florida. He will forever be missed by his siblings: Leslie Masirovits (Chuck) of Niles, Ohio; Laurie Osburn (Jack) of Macon, Georgia; David More (Kristen) of Purcellville, Virginia; and Dustin Gallup (Michele) of Ashtabula, Ohio. He is survived by his stepmother, Lorraine More of Ashtabula, and beloved nieces and nephews: Brianne Masirovits; Andrew Masirovits; Jared Osburn (Sara); and Aria More. He was preceded in death by sister Lisa Kay More, his parents, Louis and Glenda (Bradford) More and grandparents.
A private viewing for family only will be held at 9am at Naugle Funeral Home, 1203 Hendricks Ave., Jacksonville, FL 32207, on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, followed by a military burial at Jacksonville National Cemetery at 11am. Repast to be held following the service at Aspire Church San Marco on the third floor (1435 Atlantic Blvd, Jacksonville FL, 32207).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to Steve’s favorite charity, Bullies 2 the Rescue, Headquarters, 323 Unionville Indian Trail Rd W, Suite B, Indian Trail, NC 28079.
