Su-Mei Hartley (Tomi), 80 of Jacksonville, Florida passed away on Sunday, February 7th, 2021, in Orange Park, Florida.
She was born on January 25th, 1941 in the beautiful mountains of Keelung City near Taipei, Taiwan to mother Ying Lee Kuo and father Yamada Seichi. After migrating to the United States in 1968, she had an array of jobs, some of which included modeling, seamstress, language translator (she spoke 7 different languages), hospitality and food service. She would later become a full time homemaker and a devoted loving grandmother.
She had a passion for singing old folk aboriginal Taiwanese songs, was an avid bingo player, an amazing cook and loved gardening.
Su-mei was preceded in death by her daughter Wei-ling Vann and grandson Alec Carmicheal. She is survived by her daughters (3) and son-in-law (1), Tamika and Rae Huckleberry, Mai-Ling Thomas, Sha-Ling Carmicheal, grandchildren (4), Danielle Prim, Arren Huckleberry, A.J. Thomas, Avri Thomas, great-grandchildren (3) Kamora Prim, 2 grandsons on the way and furbabies (3) Bella, August and Jupiter.
