Susan M Murphy Profile Photo
Susan Bisesi Murphy was born on October 8, 1955 in Baltimore, Maryland and passed away peacefully in Jacksonville, Florida on Friday, August 24th, 2018. Sue was surrounded by her many friends and family in her final days and would smile every time someone new would come by to see her.
Sue was preceded in death by her parents, Salvatore "Bud" and Frances Bisesi and her sister Kathleen. She is survived by her loving husband, Brian, her step daughter Rachel Murphy, her first cousins, Dayl Davis and Pearle Wood, and her nephew Drew Mentzer.
Sue touched many lives around the world, from her work as a social worker in Maryland, in the Balkans refugee camps with the Red Cross, running volunteer programs with the Jacksonville American Red Cross, the City of Jacksonville, and Community Hospice, and her work with White Oak Conservation in Yulee Fl. She inspired volunteerism and community service with her own generous and giving spirit that spread her love of life.
Her infectious personality and laugh would overflow from a room and she was loved by many. She loved a party where she could wear costumes and hats and would throw events that were long talked about as being legendary fun. She loved the Everglades, nature, painting, parades and adventures. Sue loved gardening and watching the hummingbirds and butterflies in her garden.
She adored her Irish Wolfhounds and will be missed by Boru and Orla.
Sue was a diamond on this Earth and is now our diamond in the sky, she has not only relocated to another star, she has become the star. She may not be in the history books but her Life and how she lived it will keep on affecting people for a long time. Her love of life has been an inspiration to all that have known her. Sue asks that you do not cry for her, that you remember her by wearing a scarf, putting on a silly hat or wearing that ugly Christmas sweater. She wants you to carry on her spirit by volunteering and helping others. That is the Sue we know, always smiling, always helping, always in our hearts.
Sue also wished that people donate to the American Red Cross or White Oak Conservation.
Funeral services will be held at Assumption Catholic Church, September 14,2018 at 1:00 pm. A celebration of her life will be held following the ceremony at Mudville Grill Music Room, 3105 Beach Blvd, Jacksonville. It is requested that people wear scarves, silly hats, or ugly Christmas sweaters to celebrate Sue's life.
