Svend T Simonsen, 94, passed peacefully on May 5. He was a simple man who lived by the Bible, devoting his life to taking care of others. He was one of the Greatest Generation in WWII serving in the Army during the Battle of the Bulge as an Engineer. He is preceded in death by his Danish immigrant parents, Simon & Inga, sisters, Hedvig Kizer, Doris Branam, Jean Andrews. Survived by nieces Karen Kizer, Susan Shore-Houstoun, Donna Devine, Nicki Hassell, Sarah & Margie Andrews, nephews Keith, Carey, Paul Branam, Jim Andrews, many great & great-great nieces & nephews, Luci, his faithful mini schnauzer, special friends Chad Starling and Cheryl Adams. The family will receive friends at Naugle Funeral Home on Sat. 12:30 pm - 1:30 pm Graveside service with military honors 2:30 pm Sat. at Greenlawn Cemetery.
