Theresa Flynn of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away at the age of 84 Monday November 18th while hospitalized at Baptist South for a weakened respiratory condition. Theresa was born April 5, 1929 in Manhattan New York and raised in Brooklyn. Upon graduation from high school she held various positions in retail until becoming a typist for the Metropolitan Life Insurance. She married her husband George of 64 years June 14, 1949. She continued work until starting her family in 1952. She and her husband moved to Miami, Florida in 1954 for a new work and living opportunity for their family. Family and time together was most important to her. She and her husband traveled together with his job on numerous occasions nationwide to many different places. Over the course of their lives they lived in New York, Florida, Pennsylvania, Illinois, Tennessee and Louisiana finally retiring in Jacksonville June 1994. Theresa loved living along the east coast of Florida and going to the beach as often as possible. Additionally, Theresa and George made over 100 individual trips to play at the various theme parks of Walt Disney World. Her favorite day trip was to just go for ice cream at the Disney Village. Donald Duck was her favorite Disney character. Good health and her agility providing, she throughly enjoyed all the attractions Walt Disney World had to offer. Survivors include her husband George, two son’s George and Donald, sister Mary Kruessling, daughter-in-law Denise; grandchildren Alexandra (and her husband Mark Gedert), Charmaine, George Peter and William. Great-grandchildren Alita, Jasmine and Trinity. Visitation and Memorial service will be held on Friday, November 22, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Naugle Funeral Home, 1203 Hendricks Avenue. Theresa will be cremated and interned with her husband George at the Florida National Cemetery upon his passing.
