Thomas Glynn Gilbert was born on September 22, 1942, in Alexander City, Alabama, to parents Annie Mae Hanson and Yancy Thornton Gilbert. He went to be with the Lord on June 12, 2022, in Jacksonville, FL.

Glynn is survived by his children, sons Chris Gilbert and wife Christine, Andy Gilbert and wife Deana and daughter Glynna Gilbert Hall and husband Corey. Along with his five grandsons, Wade, Wesley, Wyatt, Lock and Drew. His sisters Sherry Caldwell and husband Ted and Cindy Templeton and husband Steve. Stepmother Jeanette Gilbert in addition to several beloved in laws, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Glynn graduated from Benjamin Russell High School in 1960. He then went on to Auburn University where he was a proud brother of the Kappa Alpha Order Fraternity. In addition, he played professional baseball for the Braves organization from 1960-1963. His career took him to scouting for the Cincinnati Reds, working at Talladega Racetrack and eventually into banking of which he retired in 2005.

Glynn was an avid sports fan who loved watching the Auburn Tigers and the Atlanta Braves. Enjoyed playing slots in Biloxi, eating an Arby's turkey Rueben, watching old westerns and chatting for hours on the phone with his buddy, Clint. He loved visits from his grand dog, Casey (especially since she always brought him Arby's). Spending time with family and friends is what truly made him the happiest. He lived a life of legends and will be sorely missed by those who knew and loved him.
