William James Berry, Sr.

William “Jim” Berry passed away peacefully on April 13, 2016 at the age of 70. Jim was born March 14, 1946 in Norfolk, Virginia to Walter and Lucille Berry. Jim lived most of his life in Jacksonville where he attended Andrew Jackson High School and later worked with the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office for 21 years. In 1965, Jim was drafted into the United States Army and spent more than a year deployed to Korea. Jim and his wife Susie were long time members of American Legion Post 88. He enjoyed fishing, camping, racing and most of all, loved spending time with family. Jim was preceded in death by his loving wife of 48 years, Kathryn “Susie” Berry and is survived by his 2 children, Jimmy and Jeannett; 7 grandchildren, Justin, Chelsea, Eric, Zachary, Matthew, Allison and Linley; and 2 great grandchildren, Penelope and Lana. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Haven Hospice in his remembrance.
