William Clayton Davis III, known to family and friends as Clay, passed away on January 31, 2025, at the age of 68. Born on September 14, 1956, in Jacksonville, Florida, Clay was the youngest of three siblings, the son of William and Loma Davis. He was preceded in death by his brother Mitchel Davis, and his parents, William and Loma Davis.
Clay attended Wolfson High School, where he developed a deep passion for music, particularly the piano. He was known for his love of cinematic and musical arts and he had a special way of sharing that passion with others. Clay later attended Florida State University, where he continued to build lasting friendships. Clay was a true friend to many, with close companions including Ken, Bruce, Lee, Paul, Don, Bill, Ronald, Andy and Bob. He will be remembered for his warm personality, his sense of humor, and his unwavering loyalty.
Clay is survived by his sister, Debbie Melton, her husband, and Debbie's five children: Jon, Bert, Jason, Duncan, Dee Dee, as well as his nephew once removed, Austen John.
