William Otis Faglie (Billy), 54, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, April 30th. He was surrounded by loved ones at The Earl B. Hadlow Center for Caring as he took his final breaths this side of Heaven. He is now free from cancer, pain, and suffering. His infectious laughter and contagious smile will be forever remembered, and though our hearts are broken, we will continue to smile as he would have wished as we remember our quick-witted, fun-loving, caring, selfless brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. To know him was to love him. He had no enemies. He was a great story teller, and we will replay in our minds the stories he told, in only the way he could tell them, as we try (and probably fail) to re-tell those stories to our own children and grandchildren. He experienced much pain, suffering, and heartache in his life, but we are confident that Heaven has rewarded him with an everlasting crown. He was born on February 18, 1968 in Abilene, Texas to John Thomas Faglie and Lillie Louise Faglie. He spent his childhood in San Antonio, Texas before moving to Irving Texas, where he went to high school and spent most of his adult life before moving to Jacksonville in 2016. Billy had a passion for billiards, and played in several pool leagues. He enjoyed spending time with family, and was adored by his many nieces and nephews.
Billy was the third of 4 children, and he was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his older sister Terry Lawrence and her husband David, his older brother John Ryan and his wife Donnae, his baby sister Debra Austin and her husband TJ, many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
The family will hold a private memorial service at a later date. Please feel free to make a donation to the charity of your choice in his name if you wish.
