William F. Laird III, 84, passed away peacefully on March 4, 2015. Bill grew up in Kearny, New Jersey and was a graduate of Kearny High School and of Farleigh Dickinson University. He served as an Army Corporal in the Korean War and was awarded the Purple Heart. Bill was also known as a talented water-color artist.
He raised his family in Madison, New Jersey. He was a deacon at the Madison Presbyterian Church. Bill enjoyed the beach and spent many summers and weekends in Seaside Park. Bill has lived in Jacksonville with his brother since 2009. He is survived by his twin brother, Edgar, two sons, Bill (Michelle) and David (Ginny), two granddaughters (Courtney, Sophia) and one grandson (Will). He was pre-deceased by his wife, Margaret.
A public service followed by a reception will be held on April 18th at 3:00pm at the Madison Presbyterian Church in Madison, New Jersey. He will be buried at a private ceremony at St. Catherine Cemetery in Sea Girt, New Jersey. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund, One Intrepid Square, W 46th Street & 12th Avenue, New York, NY 10036
