William Cutis Smith

William Cutis Smith, better known as "Sonny" age 78, of Jacksonville, Florida passed away peacefully at 6:00 A.M. on Friday, February 12, 2021, in his Mandarin home.
Sonny is preceded in death by his loving and Devoted wife of 54 years, Mary Ann Castleberry Smith. To cherish his memory, he leaves two sons, Jeff (Brandie) Smith; and Brian (Natasha) Smith; 3 grandchildren, Brittany Brown, Jason SMith; Aileen Natera; three sisters, Doris L Theabout, Linda K Williaford, Patricia A. Callaway; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Sonny was born August 31, 1942 in Tampa, Florida to Curtis Lee and Lessie Ortez Smith. In 1960, he graduated from Englewood High School. After graduated, he proudly joined The United State Air Force which he served from September 7, 1961, until September 7, 1965.
On January 7, 1967, Sonny married the love of his life, Mary Ann Castleberry, in Kingsland, Georgia. For 54 years they shared everything life can offer- together. They were a great team supporting each other in every way. Sonny was a devoted father, grandfather, friend and man of God. He was known for his strength, loyalty and hard work ethic. For 42 years, he took great pride in working at Bellsouth. When not working, he enjoyed spending time with family and friends, hunting and fishing. On October 11, 1987, Sonny joined First Baptist Church of Jacksonville, where he was a faithful member of his Sunday School Class.
